The bears woke up and so did the Lions with our service activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In<strong> April,<\/strong> we began our Monday board and business meetings in person, and started our dinner meetings on the third Monday of the month.  There were five Tuesdays in the month, so that made five <strong>Bingo<\/strong> nights.  April is also the time to<strong> clean up the roadsides<\/strong> in Center Harbor  (18 bags of trash collected) and Moultonborough &#8212; we are now doing Route 25 in Moultonborough  from Blake Road to Aubuchon&#8217;s (43 bags of trash collected over two days). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>May,<\/strong> the<strong> scholarship <\/strong>committee met and selected seven students (from applicants living in Moultonborough, Center Harbor, Sandwich, and Tuftonboro) to received a total of $13,000 worth of scholarships to be paid at the beginning of the students&#8217; second semester.  We continue our cleaning routine by thoroughly cleaning our adopted <strong>bunkhouse at Camp Pride<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"http:\/\/moultonboroughlions.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/IMG_2675-scaled.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/moultonboroughlions.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/IMG_2675-768x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2384\" width=\"258\" height=\"346\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>And with the help of Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts from the Moultonborough Troop and Pack, we collected a <em>little over $1400<\/em> to give to organizations which help the blind during our <strong>White Cane Day<\/strong> project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In June, after Lion Pete Strople planted annual flowers in the upper part of<strong> Sutherland Park<\/strong> in Moultonborough, we began our weekly routine on weeding and watering by various Lion members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"http:\/\/moultonboroughlions.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/sutherland-2024-2-scaled.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" src=\"http:\/\/moultonboroughlions.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/sutherland-2024-2-1024x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2387\" srcset=\"http:\/\/moultonboroughlions.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/sutherland-2024-2-1024x1024.jpeg 1024w, http:\/\/moultonboroughlions.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/sutherland-2024-2-300x300.jpeg 300w, http:\/\/moultonboroughlions.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/sutherland-2024-2-150x150.jpeg 150w, http:\/\/moultonboroughlions.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/sutherland-2024-2-768x768.jpeg 768w, http:\/\/moultonboroughlions.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/sutherland-2024-2-1536x1536.jpeg 1536w, http:\/\/moultonboroughlions.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/sutherland-2024-2-2048x2048.jpeg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We also finished up donating individual books to all the elementary students in Moultonborough, Sandwich, and Tuftonboro, by distributing <strong>82 books to students<\/strong> in Tuftonboro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At our dinner meeting we had<strong> speakers from Moultonborough Village Savings Bank<\/strong>, including Dwight Berry who initiated the informative presentation about Frauds and Scams and what we can do and what we should not do.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In spite of two April snowstorms (giving us more snow in those two storms than all winter), spring finally came to Moultonborough, NH.
