{"id":510,"date":"2014-10-22T16:28:46","date_gmt":"2014-10-22T16:28:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/moultonboroughlions.org\/?p=510"},"modified":"2014-10-22T16:28:46","modified_gmt":"2014-10-22T16:28:46","slug":"large-donation-to-operation-kid-sight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/moultonboroughlions.org\/?p=510","title":{"rendered":"Large Donation to Operation Kid Sight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The club, via president John Menken and vice-president, Jennifer Willi, \u00a0presented a <strong>$5,000 check<\/strong> to First Vice District Governor 44H, Scott Wilson to aid in the purchase of 15 new vision screening machines for \u00a0<strong>OPERATION KID SIGHT<\/strong> in the state of New Hampshire. \u00a0NH Lions raised a total of $53,392 which will be matched by Lions International.<\/p>\n<p>Scott will be our \u201cpoint\u201d man with the Health Source Board, and newly inducted member, Mark Cotrupi with be our coordinator for the vision screening. In addition to Mark, 7 other Moultonborough Lions will be trained on one of the 15 new machines, hopefully during the month of November. The purpose of the screening is to catch any vision problems early and send the individuals to the appropriate eye care professionals.<\/p>\n<p>This will mean 17 vision screening machines for the State (as we already had two) to cover 220 NH towns. The new machines are smaller and can screen @ 100 students in approximately 45 minutes.
