and it&#8217;s quite a bit&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Raffle sales:<\/strong> \u00a0we are having two in September on the 3rd and the 24th. \u00a0Let&#8217;s support this effort to \u00a0fundraise for scholarships and other community service projects.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>VISION SCREENING:<\/strong> <\/span>\u00a0President Mark has been busy contacting schools and creating a schedule for us to screen school children in the Lakes Region. \u00a0On <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">September 12<\/span>, six Lions (Mark, John, Sally, Peter and Kathy Allen, and Don) spent the morning at Gilford Elementary School. \u00a0We screened 339 children and four adults in two and a half hours with the fantastic spot screener shown below&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/moultonboroughlions.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Spotscreener.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-951\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-951 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/moultonboroughlions.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Spotscreener.jpg\" alt=\"spotscreener\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/moultonboroughlions.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Spotscreener.jpg 300w, http:\/\/moultonboroughlions.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Spotscreener-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> Friday, September 23 \u00a0<\/span>Mark Cotrupi, Kathy Allen, and Don Trudeau\u00a0once again performed vision screening at Moultonborough Academy during Picture Day.<\/p>\n<p>On<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> Saturday, September 10<\/span>, twelve of us had a fun time playing <span style=\"color: #993366;\"><strong>mini-golf<\/strong> <\/span>at the Community Caregivers Fundraiser event. \u00a0Three Moultonborough Lions even got a hole-in-one each. \u00a0Of course, we did not score well enough to win a trophy, but the important thing was contributing to a good cause and the camaraderie of our TWO TEAMS.<\/p>\n\r\n\t<div class=\"slideshow_container slideshow_container_style-light\" style=\"height: 200px; Lloyd Conery, Mark Cotrupi, Jeni Williams, and Dawn Law (with her husband, Steve) &#8212; spent the morning\u00a0painting the exterior trim, cleaning out the gutters, polyurethaning half the floor, as well as cleaning the windows and screens. \u00a0They also took down the curtains to replace them next spring. \u00a0 \u00a0<em>Dawn is pointing to the window cleaning can which was donated by Paul Atwell of WURTH.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>At the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Dinner Meeting on September 19th <\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">we enjoyed a delicious\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">c<\/span>hicken parmesan meal. \u00a0The speaker, <strong>Moultonborough Academy student, Matt Anderson<\/strong>, engaged us all by talking about his trip to Normandy and showing slides of his trip there with his history teacher and the week before, researching in DC. \u00a0Matt researched a NH soldier who was buried in Normandy. \u00a0HIs contest essay (relating why he loves history so much) was judged one of the top 15 in the US and was what earned him this honor and experience.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/moultonboroughlions.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_2382.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-970\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-970 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/moultonboroughlions.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_2382-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"img_2382\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/moultonboroughlions.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_2382-225x300.jpg 225w, http:\/\/moultonboroughlions.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_2382-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Raffle sales: \u00a0we are having two in September on the 3rd and the 24th. \u00a0Let&#8217;s support this effort to \u00a0fundraise for scholarships and other community service projects.
