May Meeting / What’s happening this summer…

The May dinner meeting of the Lions Club was highly entertaining and very informative.  The program was entitled, Good Old Summer Time, and featured speakers from five venues.  Each presentation was not only filled with information on all the activities planned this summer for toddlers through seniors, but was also done with humor and delightful anecdotes.  From left to right in the photo below the speakers were:  Julia Velie (who has organized a three concert series, featuring the youth of the community);  Donna Kuethe and Dan Sturgeon from the Moultonborough Recreation Department (there are even more activities, trips, and lessons this summer, including concerts at the Lion’s Club Gazebo); Betty Alcott from the Town of Sandwich (talking about the special 250 year celebration activities, including several days of Native American festivities); Judy Knowles and Sharon Gulla representing the Moultonborough Public Library (highlighting the children’s summer programs and the free computer lessons): and Bonnie Donahue from Castle in the Clouds (discussing the special programs as well as the free activities at that location).  People who missed the meeting should check out the websites and on-line calendars for these organizations as well as the pamphlets and flyers may of these organizations have available.

The dinner prepared by Donna Grow as well as the plentiful and tasty appetizers prepared by members of the Lions Club were delicious.  The photo below taken at the dinner meeting will also give you a glimpse of the hall renovations – the newly painted wall and the brand new curtains.
