It might be called the Moultonborough Lions Club….

It might be called the Moultonborough Lions Club but it’s used by the entire community.

Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm the Lions Club is the home of Meals-on-Wheels. Donna Grow is such a great cook that word has gotten out and I think, but do not know for a fact, that more people come and sit down to eat than the number of meals being sent out on wheels. And believe me when I say a lot of meals go out on wheels!

The Moultonborough Women’s Club meets the first Monday of every month, the Quilting Club on the first and third Wednesday, WIC on the second and third Thursday and Weight Watchers every Thursday.

The Club is also used a lot at night. The Lions meet every first and third Monday, the fourth Monday is reserved for Scout Council. If it’s Tuesday night its BINGO run by the Lions but supported by the community. Wednesday the Boy Scouts meet and Thursday the Cub Scouts.

Oh, by the way all these organizations have space set aside for them to store things at the club too. There is also a room to store overflow items for the Moultonborough Food Pantry.

A couple of times each year a Blood Drive is held at the club, there are also a couple of HOPE Auctions with proceeds going to the MUMC and Food Pantries, Meet the Candidates Night, One Book One Community Pot Luck Dinners and on the 4th of July the club and the Town join forces and host a free lunch for everyone in the town after the parade.

The Lions put money aside in their budget each year for non-profits to hold Fundraisers at the club where the Lions will pay up to $500 in expenses. The Boy Scouts, Meals-on-Wheels, Women’s Club, Community Caregivers, MA Nat’l Honor Society, Winnipesauke Wellness Center to name a few have taken advantage of this over the years.

The club is also available for rental. For more information on that please call Mike Lancor at 476-8409.

The Lions Motto is WE SERVE but for the Moultonborough Lions Club it could also be WE SHARE!

If you would like to find out more about Lionism or would like to join the Moultonborough Lions Club please contact Joe & Pat Keegan at 253-9916 or Kate Lancor at 476-8409.
